Unified Visually eXtensible Language (UVXL) is an information model that uses the human proclivity of familiarity (Zajonc, 1968) to overcome the 'valley of despair' (Kruger & Dunning, 1999) and sustain learning. Once adopted, this model creates a sense of familiarity in System 1 thinking while engaging System 2 to learn, building on dual process theory (Kahneman, 2011). By design, this model oversimplifies without information loss, thus also keeping ego, an important dual-edged motivator, in check.
